Glasshouse

The smashing new event space at The Island Gold Coast.

There’s no party quite like a Gold Coast party and come November, we’re set to up the ante even further.

The Island Gold Coast has come up with the goods once again with the announcement of Glasshouse, a stunning new marquee-style functions space where you, and all your gal pals will no doubt be spending quite a lot of time in the future.

The stunning space will be the perfect setting for events we Coasties have only dreamed of before, set to host everything from business events to cocktail parties, weddings, conferences, galas, you name it.

The ground floor space, within one of the most diverse hotels on the Gold Coast, will take up a huge 400 square metre space and is being touted as a destination of choice for large-scale celebrations.

General Manager Scott Illiff says there’s nothing quite like it on the Coast and we’re inclined to agree. Reminiscent of an actual glasshouse, the greenery-filled area will see floor-to-ceiling windows allowing in all of the natural light, ensuring you (and your Insta snaps) look even more delightful than usual.

The extra high ceilings have been designed to make the most of the Gold Coast climate and the beautiful surrounds, bringing the very best of the outdoors in. Overlooking Bruce Bishop Park and connecting guests with the neighbouring outdoor space.

The interior will feature a state-of-the-art banqueting kitchen built to cater to said large groups of party goers and a 12 metre long alfresco bar with adjoining deck will boast an impressive drinks menu perfectly at home within The Island.

The stunning space will be available from early November, just in time for Melbourne Cup and will, of course, include full state-of-the-art audio and visual capabilities and offers direct access to all hotel facilities, including boutique rooms and suites.

The addition of the Glasshouse to The Island Gold Coast means the venue now has five unique and captivating event spaces on offer, including the Rooftop, the Penthouse, the Pool Deck and Goldie’s.

It’s a VERY exciting addition to the Coast’s event-hosting scene and we can’t wait to attend your wedding there.

Thanks in advance.

LOCATION: The Island Gold Coast, 3128 Gold Coast, Hwy
WHEN: November, 2019

Largest GC Rooftop Bar: The Island Rooftop

Gold Coast's largest roof top bar.

Rooftop in Paradise

The largest rooftop bar on the Gold Coast has opened! The Island Rooftop takes full advantage of Gold Coast’s blue skies, green palms and pastel high rises.

Fashioned on vintage California, The Island Rooftop is located in the 1960’s Surfers Paradise icon, Island Resort (previously Islander Resort) which is currently in the midst of a massive refurbishment, with room bookings anticipated to be available by March 2017.

Lush greenery, ocean glimpses, chilled tunes, couches, communal tables and a long bar made from marble, your rooftop essentials are covered. Throw in the high-rise surroundings and the Gold Coast’s forever pleasing weather and you’ve now found a new home for your summer antics (autumn, winter and spring too).

The perfect thing to do in the Gold Coast for those lunch time drinks that go long into the afternoon; you will be able enjoy Mediterranean and modern Caribbean influenced tapas accompanied by some impressive cocktails. The Island Cup (to share.. who’s to say you can’t enjoy one to yourself) concocted with Beefeater gin, elderflower cordial, red grapes, pressed green apple, lemon, mint and soda. Or perhaps the Island Colada, appropriately served in a coconut with Havana 3yo, freshly pressed pineapple, coconut water, coco lopes and coconut sugar blended together.. all the antioxidants.

Bringing back the Sunset Strip vibes to Surfers Paradise, the large and spacious rooftop bar is set to host big name live music events and DJ’s. The expertise of the Katarzyna Group (owners of the likes of Cloudland, Family and Birdees in Brisbane) is a sure sign that The Island Rooftop is going to be a destination venue high on the must do list. And for all the “insiders” out there, there’s even talks of a penthouse nightclub to go on top of the Island!

Rooftop bar, penthouse nightclub, ocean glimpses …The Island is going to leave you saying one thing… welcome to paradise.
