From beachside carols to twinkling lights, balmy nights and magical family moments, there’s no shortage of ways to feel merry under the scorching Aussie summer sun, and bonus, they’re all FREE. Because let’s be honest, those Christmas presents definitely aren’t paying for themselves, am I right?

North Burleigh Carols by the Sea
Catch the Burleigh breeze and a whole lot of festive family fun at this hugely popular seaside carols evening at North Burleigh. Expect a relaxed afternoon of market stalls, food trucks, school choirs, a visit from Santa and plenty of kids’ activities, including inflatable fun and a Snow Zone!. Stage entertainment will kick off from 6pm, and the evening will wrap up with a spectacular fireworks display lighting up the North Burleigh headland. Bring your picnic rugs for a stellar arvo by the beach!

Tugun Lights Up
Come and see Toolona Street transformed into a glowing village of festoon lighting, live music, roving performers, market stalls and endless kids entertainment! This much-loved annual tradition brings the community together with plenty of Christmas spirit. Feast on festive foods, dive into activities with the kiddos, or just sit back and enjoy the live brass, fire performers and carol singers.

Christmas at Frascott
It’s giving community block party – Christmas style! You’ve got your festive crafts, your carols, your visit from Santa and live stage entertainment from 5pm. But it doesn’t stop there, folks. They’ve also got a snow zone, a live laser show, an animal farm and tasty food trucks! Families can spread out across the large green spaces and enjoy a relaxed, feel-good evening of celebration!

Alicia Street Christmas Fair
Inflatable fun, a pop-up elf circus and a laser light show make this one a Southport favourite. There are market stalls, live entertainment, roving performers and food trucks to keep bellies full. And of course, a special visit from Mr Claus. Expect a cosy community fair with a festive atmosphere.

Carols by the Lake

Bring a blanket, snag a spot and watch an evening of festivities unfold.

Palm Beach Christmas Carols
Here to make a grand return after several years away, expect Palm Beach Christmas Carols 2025 to be the perfect summer Christmas evening! Bring a picnic to the parklands for live music, carols, market stalls and roving performers. Little ones will be delighted with face painting, bubble entertainment and arts and crafts. Dune Café will be serving up delicious bites, alongside a variety of food and drink stalls. The night will close with a spectacular fireworks display lighting up the Palm Beach sky!

A brand-new event at one of the Gold Coast’s newest parklands, expect carols, plenty of kids activities and markets. Catch the various fireworks displays, with family friendly shows slated for Broadbeach, Coomera and Surfers Paradise at 8pm, or Coolangatta at 9pm – before they fire again for the big shebang as the clock officially strikes 12 on 2025.
