Takin’ care of business

Level up your workspace at Riva Offices in Robina.

WFH had its moment… rolling out of bed, comfy clothes in business meetings and swapping sandwiches at the desk for quality time with our fridge.

But if we’re being honest – we crave real connections, inspired surroundings, and a workspace that elevates focus.

And there’s only so many side-eyes a barista can throw before we know we’ve overstayed our oat latte at the local cafe.

It’s time to clock into something better.

Enter co-working spaces – the perfect middle ground where you can be a #GirlBoss as well as have a work-life balance.

Leading the charge on the Gold Coast is Riva Offices, swapping cubicles for community and offering environments that support not just productivity, but wellbeing too.

Founded by the forward-thinking Churwell Family Office, with Hugh and Richard Ellis at the helm, Riva Offices was built on the idea that where you work matters.

With the OG Riva in Bundall, the newly opened second location in Robina has truly raised the bar – or should we say, the desk?

“Robina is a vibrant, fast-growing hub on the Gold Coast, offering the perfect balance of business opportunity and community,” said Richard.

Designed by the creative powerhouse Sonia Leith of Leithal Designs, the space blends functionality with flair. Think light-filled private suites, carefully curated furnishings, custom joinery and designer kitchens that practically invite you to take a break. The colour palette? Soft, calming tones with textured finishes that work as hard as you do to create a space where productivity and comfort are in perfect harmony.

Whether you’re an early bird or a night owl, members enjoy 24/7 secure access to the space – because inspiration doesn’t always strike between 9 and 5. That said, Riva’s friendly team is on hand during staffed hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm) to help with anything from tech support to meeting room bookings.

Yes, meetings are made easy at Riva Offices. No noisy cafe meet-ups here, and no unexpected cameos from your dog mid-deal. Equipped with elevated tech and a dash of boardroom glamour, these spaces mean business. Literally.

One of the best parts about co-working? The vibe. This isn’t a sea of soulless cubicles — it’s a community. Riva Robina is for the freelancers, founders, start-ups, and seasoned pros looking for a place to thrive.

Riva Offices buzz with energy, ideas and opportunity – where casual chats turn into collaborations, and your next big break might just come from a spontaneous “hey, what do you do?” in the hallway. It’s networking without the name tags, and the kind of serendipity that just doesn’t happen when you’re working solo in your living room.

“The space has been custom designed and built with the future members in mind,” explained Richard. “It is a place where businesses come to grow.”

Bridging the gap between enduring endless office small talk and being distracted by your cat’s attempts at a leisurely stroll across the keyboard whilst WFH, the recent rise of co-working spaces has been an undeniable win for businesses, professionals and entrepreneurs everywhere.

Riva Offices, Bundall (image supplied)

And if escaping those productivity-thwarting distractions is music to your ears, listen up. Riva Offices, a slick new co-working space in Bundall block offers the best of both worlds and takes it to a whole new – and very chic – level.

Conveniently nestled right in the heart of the CBD, the corner of Bundall Road and Crombie Avenue just got a serious upgrade. Riva Offices offers a vibrant, contemporary space with low-key resort vibes while you (quite literally go) about your business. Our to-do lists are not ready.

The boutique office facility offers everything from private offices to hot desks, along with dedicated meeting and podcast rooms – though at its core, this place is about so much more than functionality alone.

We all know the environment in which we work can significantly impact productivity and morale. Striking the balance between form and function – Riva Office’s thoughtfully curated, elevated surroundings totally redefines the way you work, connect, and create.

Already turning heads (in an office-appropriate way) in the few short months since its launch, owner Hugh Ellis recognised the need for high-end co-working options when it comes to meeting the diverse needs of professionals and businesses across the board.

A veritable one-stop shop for professionals – (obligatory) high speed wifi, perks such as 24/7 access and security, mail handling services and a fully equipped kitchen (wherefore art thou coffee?!) are all part of the sweet deal. Along with the plethora of premium amenities, there are added advantages like access to business development programs and networking opportunities. Because it’s not just about getting stuff done; it’s about growing that empire too, no?

While freelancers and entrepreneurs will appreciate perching up at a dedicated desk or hot desk in the modern, open-plan surrounds there are also options like light and airy private offices for teams of up to ten. Contemporary and fully serviced meeting rooms are also on offer, which are suitable for teams of up to 16.

For anyone looking to dip their toe into the world of podcasting, there’s a studio decked out with all the latest audio gear in an acoustically refined interior… So you can feel confident busting out those vocal warmups (and umpteenth takes) in privacy and style.

7 sweet Gold Coast coworking spaces

Working from home in your pyjamas is so 2021.

One of the benefits of the pandemic was undoubtedly the widespread acceptance of working from home. You escape the daily commute, and you can casually hop on Zoom calls fresh out of bed.

However, fast forward a smidge and the shine begins to fade on WFH. You inevitably miss putting on nice clothes, washing your face and interacting with other humans IRL.

Enter the co-working space. The ultimate inbetween. Gone are the days of sitting in a cafe corner, nursing a two hour old long black while stealthily avoiding the disapproving glances of the cafe staff.

Coworking spaces are more than just places to work – they’re dynamic hubs that foster collaboration, idea sharing, and the vibrant energy of working alongside other professionals throughout the day. Our list of coworking venues is bound to ignite your creativity and make the hours until 5pm fly by. Embrace the flexibility and convenience that these coworking spaces offer, and say goodbye to the traditional office grind.

CoSPACES (image supplied)

CoSPACES – Old Station Co. Southport
The biggest name in local coworking spaces, CoSPACES have a number of sites around the suburb of Southport. Their original space, however, is the Old Station Co. which is home to everything from private rooms to communal areas and is complete with outdoor areas and a coffee shop for when it’s time to step away from that blue light. Located on Nerang Street, Southport (and directly in front of G:Link Southport station) the space is next door to epic rooftop bar and deli, Mr PP’s. CoSPACES also has a photography studio and perfect little event space so you can host or get involved in anything your heart desires. Should you be the social type, you’ll be pleased to hear there is a sizeable contingent of local legends hanging out — sorry, working — here too.

Flockd
Flockd is the daydream you once had of an idyllic office somewhere mashed with the upbeat and cosmopolitan vibes of Burleigh Heads. The result is dreamy, minimalistic style furnishings with airy and light surrounds, creating a mini utopia of productive behaviour and inspired work. You have the option of two slightly different buildings right next to each other where long-termers and hot-deskers converge as one. There’s even an adjoining café and day spa thrown in there for good measure, and all of the dogs are made most welcome — hopefully, they don’t distract you too much, though.
Where: 4 Starling Street, Burleigh Heads

The Productive GC
The Productive GC is the handiwork of mother/daughter duo Ashley and Angelique, and hats off to them: we can’t help but notice the place is teeming with good vibes. You can expect an all-white space and hanging plants and lolly jars scattered everywhere, ohh and the very best part is, you can BYO pets. That’s right, there are numerous dogs in residence on any given day, and you can take as many pat and stroke breaks as you need. The space lives on Upton Street, and there’s parking for days, which is nothing short of super convenient. Then throw in the fact you are central to everyone and everything in our city, and you’re onto a winner.

But here’s the kicker – you can turn your workday into a spa day with their “Soak & Work” deal, giving you access to the Bathhouse while you hustle. And if you’re just in need of a spot to type away, they’ve got half and full-day access to the cowork zone.
