Some milestones call for champagne. Others? A silky latte. At Southport’s new Milestone Cafe & Kitchen, every sip and every bite is a little celebration worth raising a cup to.
Owner Selena Mun knows a thing or two about chasing dreams one coffee at a time. Born and raised in Korea, she studied tourism before realising her true calling wasn’t booking flights, it was pouring perfect flat whites. After cutting her teeth in Korea’s cafe scene, Selena set her sights on Australia, the heavyweight champion of coffee culture.
“I saw it as a place where I could learn, grow and challenge myself,” she said.

Selena threw herself into barista life, moving from cafe to cafe, soaking up every skill until the opportunity arose to run her own. Her first venture, Holy Egg, became a community favourite, but something still didn’t quite click for Selena. So, she reimagined the whole thing, right down to the last chair leg. Goodbye Holy Egg, hello Milestone Cafe – a name that captures her philosophy that a single cup of coffee can become a meaningful milestone in someone’s day.

And trust us, this cafe is ticking all the right boxes. Think warm mid-century interiors with natural wood tones, lush greenery and hand-picked ceramics (some shipped all the way from Korea!). There’s seating indoors and out, with shady spots for summer and sunny nooks for those chasing a golden glow. And bonus: it’s right by Southport Metro carpark, so you can celebrate after completing your weekly shop.
But let’s get to the menu. Head Chef Kyle Lee, who’s cooked everywhere from fine dining in Korea to a French wine bar in Australia, has whipped up a brunch spread worth writing home about.

The Seoul Croffle is a true East-meets-West bite, layering crispy chicken, sweet candied bacon, gochujang butter, maple drizzle and fresh coleslaw on a croffle base (yes, croissant + waffle = croffle). Crispy, flaky and utterly fancy!
The Sunrise Benny swaps the usual muffin for a crispy sweet potato pave topped with smashed avo, poached egg, silky hollandaise and fresh garnish.
Of course, no milestone is complete without dessert, and here, every sweet is baked in-house. From playful Carrot Cake topped with cute cartoon designs to Basque cheesecake and cult-fave Matcha Cookies, there’s always something freshly baked to sweeten your day.

And then there’s the drinks. The Milestone Cream Latte is basically liquid happiness: almond milk coffee topped with silky cream and crumble. The Pistachio Forest has gone viral for its chocolate nutty decadence, while the Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte keeps regulars coming back for its refreshing, fruity-meets-earthy balance.
So next time you need a pick-me-up, forget the big life milestones. Celebrate the small stuff with a croffle in one hand and a cappuccino in the other. After all, life’s too short not to mark the moment.
