You’ve got to love Dads! Forever content with a bakery fresh meat pie and a crisp cold one. They remind us that it’s the little things in life that pack the biggest pleasure punch. However, even Dad occasionally enjoys a bit of fancy – though he may not admit it. So, in the spirit of dishing up some fancy this Father’s Day, we’ve rounded up some of the best experiences going down on the Gold Coast on Dad’s Day.

Skip the socks and treat Dad to something he’ll actually love this Father’s Day weekend at Arakawa. Friday 5th and Saturday 6th September, it’s all sizzling teppanyaki fun or an indulgent Omakase for two ($240 per couple) featuring oysters with kakuni pork Kilpatrick, Mooloolaba prawn katsu sando, dry-aged rib of beef with whisky-wash butter, wagyu fat garlic fried rice and more, plus a Clarified Arakawa Negroni to sip along the way. Spoil him rotten and book before seats disappear.

If Dad dreams in buffets, beers and a cheeky whisky, then Terraces has basically written his Father’s Day wish list. On Sunday 7th September, the iconic Seafood Buffet is stepping it up with all the ocean treasures, think freshly shucked oysters, king prawns, Tasmanian salmon, black mussels, sweet crab and garlic bugs, plus a live carvery station starring a pig on a spit (cue Dad’s happy dance).
But wait, there’s more. He’ll be greeted with a complimentary whisky tasting on arrival before diving into a craft beer buffet and premium sliders to really seal the deal.

If Dad’s love language is food (or spa robes), JW Marriott has Father’s Day sorted. On Sunday 7th September, Citrique is serving up a Seafood & Grill Long Lunch fit for a king. We’re talking ocean-fresh oysters and prawns, prime beef rib, roasted porchetta and a slow-braised lamb shoulder pie that’ll have Dad loosening the belt a notch. Plus, he scores a complimentary Manager’s Beer Selection, because nothing says “world’s greatest dad” like a free beer with your roast. Click here for all the details.
But if your dad’s more about zen than zingers, spoil him with The Ultimate Father’s Day Retreat at Spa by JW. This 90-minute indulgence includes a full-body massage, heated stone back and shoulder treatment, soothing scalp massage and revitalising foot massage, finished off with access to the spa’s sauna and steam shower. Basically, it’s the reset button every dad dreams of.

Your old man deserves way more than socks this Father’s Day, and QT Gold Coast is delivering the goods. On Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th September, FIXX Café is swapping dainty scones and cucumber sangas for a Man Tea that’s unapologetically hearty. Think Kransky-stuffed pastry wrapped in maple bacon, wagyu sliders stacked with smoky cheese, Cajun-spiced sirloin, bacon mac ‘n’ cheese croquettes and rosemary-salted fries that’ll have Dad calling dibs before they hit the table.
And because no feast is complete without a showstopper, dessert comes in the form of The Cigar, a smoking couverture chocolate cigar filled with Cincoro tequila chocolate mousse, freeze-dried raspberry and lemon ash. Petition to make the ‘Man Tea’ mainstream?
