Okay friends, we need to talk.
There are very few sleeps until Christmas day and yes, our hearts started pounding too. Firstly because it’s legit our favourite time of the year and secondly coz crap, we need to get our rears into gear and sort presents stat.
If you’re like us and running way behind in this department (every.darn.year), here’s a roundup of inspo to help you get a wriggle on.
Being the proud Gold Coasters that we are, each of our suggestions is based in our ‘hood, coz #supportlocal will forever be our favourite hashtag (and we do love a good hashtag, in case you hadn’t noticed).

Spirits and Beer
Get in the spirit this Christmas – quite literally! Who doesn’t love a tipple so a pressie from one of these local booze-bosses, you’ll be the golden child/friend/niece/nephew/co-worker…you get the gist.
Starting with to the central power players, Granddad Jack’s in Miami will sort you out with a selection of extra special Christmas gift packs. Or hit up a rising fave which has been attracting attention for all the right reasons, Burleigh’s Familiar Spirits. We highly recommend their limited-edition Pudding Gin (you’re welcome).
For beer enthusiasts who want both the sips and the swag, the Coast has you sorted. Burleigh Brewing Co. (their Twisted Palm Tropical Pale Ale is basically summer in a can) and Balter are classics, while newcomers Roji Cat and Padre are quickly building a cult following. And if someone’s craving a proper Belgian-style brew, Ashmore’s Madlocke Beer Brewing Company is the go-to.
Coffee
For anyone who runs on caffeine (so, most of us), the Gold Coast has some seriously gift-worthy coffee options. Local roasters like Social Espresso in Burleigh, Willy’s Beans in Burleigh Heads, and Miami’s Whyld Coffee Roastery are serving up freshly roasted beans that make your morning brew feel like a celebration. Perfect for popping straight into a machine at home or gifting to a mate who appreciates a quality cuppa, these roasters combine passion, flavour, and a little bit of Gold Coast magic in every bag. Ahh our humble, little ol’ Gold Coast… we’re famous for our food and fab beaches, but what about fashion? Well if we know a thing or two about Gold Coasters, it’s that beating our chest and making a big hoo-ha isn’t really our vibe so you might be surprised to know that some of Australia – and the world’s – most loved fashion brands started right here. Isabelle Quinn
Since 2015 Isabella Quinn has been bringing some of our favourite designs to life, think feminine and contemporary silhouettes with a hint of romance. Okay so technically these guys aren’t quite Gold Coast grown, but they started their journey just down the road in Logan so we’ll claim them as our own – and their flagship store is right here at Pacific Fair. Never ones to be content with settling for the norm, you’ve probably seen the insane evolution LSKD has been on these past few years and it’s not just us who are big fans – they’ve built a cult following. Functional, design-led pieces are at the forefront of the brand so you’re guaranteed to love the buttery soft fabrics and trend-making silhouettes. They’re on a mission to inspire people to be 1% better every day and let’s just say that’s a whole lot easier when you’re kitted out in their epic fitness apparel.

We’ve been following local brand YCL Jewels for many years now and the brand, by self-taught designer Fabienne, has grown to win countless awards and become absolutely adored by women all over the world. Designs are made in small batches and inspired by the art in every day and all consciously created. We’re big fans.

Cort Jewellery
Husband and wife team, Ashley and Dean started Cort Jewellery to create handmade pieces in epic designs and they have become much-loved worldwide. Specialising in edgy signet rings that break the mould of traditional design, the pair also create pendants and bracelets and have recently launched reloved collection, made from restored jewellery. Do yourself a favour.

Everybody loves plants. There’s something comforting about being surrounded by them in your home, plus they look so very pretty and you can never have too many #crazyplanylady.
Whether it be the Fiddle Leaf Fig, the Monstera or the Chinese Money Plant there’s always a trendy new ‘it’ plant we need to add to our growing indoor nurseries. Please tell us we’re not the only ones?
Thankfully the Gold Coast is home to plenty of amazing spots to buy plants and because you probably (definitely) need a few more, here’s our pick of the bunch.
Greenfolk
This little Burleigh Heads beauty is tucked away and filled with the most magical array of plants there are. From cacti to succulents, all of the indoor plants and a stunning range of pots, this veritable urban jungle has absolutely everything you need. We want it all.

Paul’s Plants

Instant Jungle Palms Nursery
Instant Jungle is a plant nursery based in Labrador with over two acres of palms, shrubs and exotic plants. They also specialise in water features, Bali huts, ceramic pots and statues. Wander up there for a magical experience.

Ross Evans Garden Centre
Found on a six acre site in Runaway Bay and established over 40 years ago, Ross Evans Garden Centre has it all. They grow over half of their own plants and import a huge range of pots and planters, so you can kit our your entire garden from the one spot. Quite relaxing to wander around in there too.

The Borrowed Nursery
Behind the lavender roller door Mermaid’s beloved nursery is absolutely packed with goodies, every type of plant you could want, beautiful pots, dried flowers, art and books, all the best things. You can hire plants for events and the space itself can be hired too. Big fans.

Tree Select Australia
A wholesale palm tree farm with over 7 acres of feature trees and potted plants, Tree Select Australia is where it’s at if you’re in need of a few large-scale backyard palms.
