For kids, school holidays mean freedom, fun, and staying up past bedtime. For parents, it’s more like refereeing snack wars and fielding “what are we doing today?” every 12 minutes. Enter Paradise Centre, swooping in like the holiday hero you didn’t know you needed, with a line-up of crafty, tasty, fiery, prize-filled goodness guaranteed to keep everyone smiling.
First up, your little ones won’t just stop to smell the flowers – they’ll wear them too! Sprouting in the heart of the action is the Garden of Wonder, a life-sized theatrical garden with free crown-making workshops that’ll have them blooming with pride. Sessions kick off daily from 1.00pm, and last around 20 minutes. The jewel in the crown? Each child who has pre-booked will receive a special gift (until supplies wilt away), ensuring the holiday mems last longer than the sugar high from their ice cream cone.

And because keeping kids fed and entertained is the holy grail of any holiday outing, Paradise Centre is also serving up foodie workshops just for them. Budding chefs can don an apron at Enzo’s Cucina Kids’ Pizza Masterclass, where they’ll roll dough, pile on toppings, and devour their cheesy creations. If burgers are more their vibe, the Kids’ Burger Masterclass is a hands-on (and mouth-on) adventure in building the perfect patty tower.
Love Italy is also hosting pizza parties with all the trimmings (including a Nutella pizza dessert – cue the sugar rush), while Surfers Paradise Hair Wraps and Braiding are running Junior Braiders Workshops. For $50, kids aged six and up can master ponytail braiding and take home their very own kit – because why should the grown-ups have all the good hair days?

A feast with a side of thrilling theatrics?! Count us in! If the kiddos (or you) haven’t yet experienced the fire and energy of teppan dining, this is your cue. From family-friendly to elevated eats, Misono serves up fresh Japanese fare that’s as delicious as it is fun. Think Australian Wagyu, chicken, scallops, bug meat and more, expertly cooked over flame, with fresh sashimi and sushi on hand to balance things out. Even better, there are dedicated kids’ teppanyaki banquets, making it an easy win for families. Milky Lane is the ultimate kid magnet thanks to its retro milkbar-inspired fitout (perfect for Insta snaps) and epic menu. Decadent, daring and downright delicious.

Vapiano is perfect for families who love freshly made pasta, pizza, and risotto. I bet you can’t name a single person who doesn’t adore one or more of those things. And at Vapiano, they serve it hearty, yet elevated with everything from burrata and prosciutto with focaccia and roast pumpkin and quinoa salad to creamy carbonara and mini Hawaiian pizza. In other words, there’s something for every member of the family. Pop in any day of the week between 4-6pm for sips from $6 and snacks from $5. Hell yeah!

As relaxed as the name suggests, and situated in the sunny Surfers Paradise, Longboards is perfect for families and any occasion. You will be hard-pressed to find a menu as loaded as Longboards, covering snacks, loaded fries, normal fries, mains, salads, wings, burgers, and sweets. The kids’ menu includes fun eats like mini sliders and chicken bites. But warning! They’ll be tempted by your popcorn chicken and cheesy garlic bread (assuming you would order such deliciousness), and will resort to stealing given the right opportunity!

Nothing beats a surf club for that casual, welcoming family vibe, and BMD Northcliffe Surf Club is a real Gold Coast gem! They’ve got stunning ocean views alongside a menu of seafood, burgers, gourmet salads, pasta, and grilled classics for adults, and fish, burgers, pizzas, or nuggets with chips for kids. They’re also open for breakfast, serving favourites the kids will love.

La Playa is your little slice of Mediterranean paradise on the Gold Coast, serving vibrant eats by the beach. We’re talking chargrilled favs, exotic salads, pastas and skewers. Hog’s Breath is a family favourite for hearty meals that everyone will love. Think prime ribs, steaks, burgers, and chicken schnitzels — proper crowd-pleasers for hungry adults. Celebrate your child’s next party in paradise. Literally – this place is actual paradise for kids. Paradise Resort is a sprawling fun-packed venue, with so many options for birthday parties we’d be here till Christmas listing them all. As a guide, a basic three-hour Ice Skating Party for five kids will set you back $150, whereas a two-hour Pamper Parlour Party for a minimum of eight kiddos is $520. Or you can mix and match the above, and add in waterpark, laser tag, and climbing wall to name a few.

Ahhh the flashbacks of living it large as a kid at Timezone. And let us tell you, absolutely nothing has changed, with our mini’s going weak at the knees at the mere mention of the ‘T’ word. At Surfers Paradise Timezone, there are three party packages priced from $29.90 per head. Between 2.5 and 3 hours in duration, they include everything from game time to a dedicated party host, with the two more expensive options also serving up kid’s meals. At Timezone Coolangatta and Robina, there are similar packages so parentals, it’s a no-brainer!

Think on-trend curves, pastels-a-plenty, and a darn good menu to boot.
