Scones, blooms and boujee brews, Tarte Tea Garden has arrived.
Scones, blooms and boujee brews, Tarte Tea Garden has arrived.

Hold onto your croissants, Gold Coast – the pastry powerhouse behind Tarte Bakery and Tarte Beach House is back at it again, and this time they’ve gone full fairy tale. Meet Tarte Tea Garden, the latest (and dare we say, most whimsical?) addition to the Tarte family, and the high tea hangout of our dreams.

Perched right beside Tarte Beach House in Currumbin, this leafy little wonderland is serving up all the elegance of high tea with that signature Tarte flair – think garden party vibes, miniature pastries, cloud-topped matcha concoctions and an actual wall of roses. Yep. A wall of roses. If that doesn’t scream “main character energy,” we don’t know what does.

Let’s talk tea, because this isn’t your nana’s soggy Earl Grey and soggier scone situation. The Tarte Tea Garden experience is a love letter to indulgence: we’re talking dainty versions of Tarte’s most iconic pastries, warm scones with homemade jam and cream (obviously), French-style hot choc that’s basically liquid velvet, and a tiramisu coffee that deserves its own fan club.
And then there’s the matcha. Oh boy, the matcha. Ceremonial grade, of course, but also served in dreamy variations like rhubarb and blueberry-lavender alongside cloud matchas topped with that signature Tarte cold foam. It’s giving flavour. It’s giving drama. It’s giving… cloud nine.

Prefer to sip and snack without the full high tea shebang? Walk-ins are more than welcome. You can swing by for your own custom selection of mini goodies – think smoked salmon bagels, mini versions of their famous chicken sandwich and sweet bites you’ll pretend are “for later” but definitely eat in the car. Don’t worry, no judgment here.

Oh, and if you’re planning a birthday, hens, or just want to get your Bridgerton on with your besties, Tarte Tea Garden also offers private high tea bookings and full garden hire. Cue the “rosé and roses” captions (we’ve been told the liquor licence is on its way).
Visually, it’s everything you’d expect from Tarte and more. Set behind a lush green wall and surrounded by lavender, gardenias and a sea breeze that somehow makes your hair look better, the garden is equal parts playful, pretty and just a little bit posh. Basically, it’s what would happen if a Parisian tea salon and a coastal Aussie backyard had a very chic baby.

Whether you’re team matcha or ride-or-die for a rich, frothy coffee, there’s something on the menu for every flavour fiend. But let’s be honest – you’re also here for the vibe. And what a vibe it is.
Go on, spill the tea – you know this one’s already in the group chat.
Where: 2 Thrower Dr, Currumbin
When: Wednesday to Sunday from 9am – 2pm, with high tea available any day by booking.
