This much-loved free event invites locals and visitors alike to explore the Gold Coast’s most intriguing spaces—from heritage gems and sustainable homes to cutting-edge infrastructure. With exciting new buildings and returning favourites, GCOH offers rare access into the buildings, places and spaces that shape our city.
The 2025 theme of resilience highlights how the Gold Coast’s built environment adapts and thrives amid coastal challenges—featuring everything from retro reimaginings like The Pink Hotel, to innovative projects like Kanooka House.
Join us for an unforgettable lineup of events, including Living Legacies: Gold Coast Modernism Revisited—a full day of insightful panel discussions at Griffith University, where thought leaders and experts explore the future of urban spaces. Don’t miss Architect for a Day, offering students a unique hands-on experience in the world of architecture, or grab your sketchbook and immerse yourself with the Urban Sketchers, capturing the essence of the city.
Ahead of the weekend, GCOH is also thrilled to partner with the SWELL Sculpture Festival for a special fundraising event that celebrates art, architecture, and community. This unforgettable evening will bring together creatives and supporters, all in support of keeping Gold Coast Open House a free and accessible event for years to come.
