The Long Sunset

After a massive sellout in 2024, The Long Sunset returns from 31 October – 2 November 2025 with a stacked program ready to light up the Scenic Rim region. Just over an hour from Brisbane or the Gold Coast, we’re setting up a new base camp in the heart of Boonah.

Headlined by beloved indie heavyweights Boy & Bear and pop powerhouse Vera Blue, this year’s festival brings together a mix of beloved fan favourites, genre-defying acts, and high-energy performers who know how to get the crowd moving. Gretta Ray adds sharp pop hooks and heartfelt songwriting, while The Buoys bring punchy, guitar-driven energy. Jem Cassar-Daley delivers soul and depth, Playlunch crank up the chaos with their signature bogan funk, and Tjaka blend traditional sounds with modern beats. The Vernons keep things bluesy and loud, and Bunny Racket brings the noise for little rockers and their grown-ups.

Also joining the 2025 lineup are Paper Lane and Silk ‘N’ Oak, winners of our Win a Spot on the Lineup competition. These two emerging acts captured the hearts of our community and earned their place on the festival stage.

There’s something for everyone — from live music and roving performances to immersive workshops, community art, and unexpected discoveries across the site.

Catch original works by members of the I Heart Songwriting Club, experience the genre-defying energy of Ben Barker as he fuses didgeridoo and guitar into future-facing soundscapes, and dance it out with a global party set from Billie Weston. Get involved at Andrea Kirwin’s Open Mic, or soak up the distinctive alternative R&B and indie sounds of rising artist Rhys Rich.

The Silent Disco will have you dancing after dark, while Gilly’s Line Dancing brings the boot scootin’ fun with an all-in line dancing session.

The festival grounds are alive with more to explore — Artisan Alley offers inclusive an Art Workshop by Sip & Create Tamborine Mountain and community-led creativity, and the Frog Hotel Workshop with Watergum is perfect for anyone keen to get hands-on with native habitat building. Miss Bubbles will be roaming throughout the site with her trail of giant shimmering bubbles, and early risers can start their day grounded with free morning yoga.

The festival kicks off Friday evening with entertainment on the grounds and a special live set from Bayley Pearl at Boonah’s iconic Commercial Hotel — the perfect welcome to a weekend filled with music, creativity and connection.

As part of Qld Music Trails: The Scenic Rim, expect live music activations, pop-ups and events happening all around the region.
