Robina’s best-kept secret is serving rooftop treats

Green Fields has a high tea worth savouring.

Every now and then, the Gold Coast surprises you with a hidden gem that feels like it’s been there all along, quietly waiting for you to find it. Green Fields Bar + Restaurant is one of those places, perched high above the buzz of Robina on the fourth floor of TAFE Queensland’s campus. Since opening in July 2022, it’s been a local favourite for relaxed, seasonal dining, but now there’s something brand new on the menu: a Saturday afternoon tea that’s equal parts indulgent and effortless.

From 2 pm to 4 pm every Saturday, the rooftop transforms into a sunlit escape where time seems to slow and the Gold Coast hinterland steals the spotlight. At $65 per person, guests are treated to a lavish selection of sweet and savoury delights, served on tiered stands that are almost too pretty to eat (almost).

Start with savouries that hit all the right notes: chicken and tarragon sandwiches, smoked salmon and cucumber fingers and prosciutto, mozzarella and pesto on fluffy focaccia. The warm bites keep the comfort coming – buttery ham and gruyere croissants, golden chorizo and sweetcorn arancini with lemon mayo, and those nostalgic, flaky sausage rolls that never go out of style.

Then comes the sweet side, and trust us, it’s worth saving room for. Passionfruit and kiwi pavlova, Nutella délice, berry friands, chocolate truffles and Turkish delight all make an appearance, and no afternoon tea would be complete without scones. They’re served them with mascarpone, lemon curd and strawberry jam, and you’re encouraged to pile it on generously. Pair your treats with a specialty Madura tea or add a glass of champagne for that perfect “weekend done right” touch.

High Tea at Green Fields is only offered on Saturdays, and occasionally the space is reserved for private events, which makes it feel even more exclusive. Everything on the menu is prepared with care, using locally sourced, sustainable ingredients.

The vibe is laid-back but luxe, think modern Australian style with warm tones, natural light, and that easy Gold Coast energy that makes you want to linger all afternoon. Add in the panoramic hinterland views, the soft terrace breeze, and a menu built around sustainability and locally sourced produce, and you’ve got yourself one unforgettable Saturday ritual.

Whether you’re rounding out the year with friends, catching up after the holidays, or simply in the mood to treat yourself, Green Fields’ new afternoon tea is the sweetest way to do it. A hidden rooftop, a fresh menu, and a team of passionate chefs, it’s the kind of Gold Coast experience that feels as good as it tastes.

Where: 94 Laver Drive, Robina
When: 2-4pm, Saturdays. *From time to time owing to private events High Tea may not be available. High Tea will not be available on 15 and 29 November or 6 December.
